Years later I am still trying to pay it off. And because of their stringent rules that require you to register and report it within 30 days and even if I satisfied that they'll only pay the initial penalties and interest. Would of been better off doing my taxes without the software. I don't see any savings there, in fact it's approximately $13.50 more for the download version (includes $1 additional NY state sales tax on the $12.50 difference). Sure, I can have it right away, and if I order it to have shipped via super saver shipping, it may take a few weeks before I get it, but it will be four weeks at earliest before I have my W-2s and can file. So where's the savings? Considering there is no handling at all as there would be with shipping a package out, why is this more expensive? Please note that my rating is solely based on the cost factor and not a rating for the software itself. I've used Turbotax every year since 1987, so I have a good idea how the software is.
