I beta tested this product and believe me it is a wonderful product. I use a Professional Software to prepare Tax Returns but I decided to try this one. I was surprised at the ease of use and the fact that it ensures you get the maximum deduction allowed. Every one should try and use this product. I may loose a few customers based on my revies but I am only telling the truth.

The 2009 version seemed very similar to the excellent 2008, 2007,... 2000+ version of this software. Although TurboTax fills out your forms, please print a copy and check them (like the program suggests) before sending them to the government.

Last year, I decided to use Turbotax on the web. I went online and got everything filled out and completed and was 1/2 way happy with the return, put my credit card number in and paid for the software and once I did that, the refund amount dropped by $2,250 and so I spent hours going over the figures to see what was wrong.

After failing to get that working, I decided to buy the software and redid everything and still got a completely different amount!!! Now that I had paid for the software twice (Oh, and I did write to them for a refund and they said we can't because you bought one of each).

I decided to buy Taxcut on the 11th hour, didn't take long to get everything filled in and had a really nice hefty refund. Still, I wasted nearly $100 on Turbotax and got squat.

Their software is very buggy and it tries to calculate the child tax credit PRIOR to finishing out with the other deductions. Wrong!!! Child tax credit is the very last, because it's based on your net income AFTER all your other deductions.

By the way, the reason I switched to TurboTax in the beginning was because I had started using Quicken so I assumed it would pick up on everything and would make the taxes easier. Unfortunately, that didn't go as planned.

Get Taxcut and with the income/expense reports from Quicken, easily just type in the amounts. Not hard to do.

I did try turbotax online last night and the thing has bugs. I was doing preplanning taxes and turbotax could not even perform that. <sigh>. Don't buy their product. The people that work there don't have common sense to refund me at least one of their products (I could have demanded refund for both products) and it cost me nearly $100. I let it go last year but the software is still buggy for 2009's taxes so now I am intending on steering people away from this buggy software. Plese, stay away. Try it online for free and you'll see how screwed up it is!!!!! Then go buy taxact and see a difference. How can two different softwares going by the same IRS rules come up with different amounts? Taxact is correct. Turbotax is wrong.

It is with dismay that the 2009 version will not run on Windows 2000; last year's version did. There are many of us who still use this operating system and TurboTax has made a big mistake in not continuing to have their software run on that system.TurboTax Deluxe Federal + State 2009 + efile

As a user of TurboTax/MacIntax for the last 20 years I have always had confidence in TurboTax; however, the last three years things have gone downhill. Last year was the limit of my endurance for TurboTax. After I filed my return on March 1st. I was questioned by the State about an erroneous entry, When I went back to check, there was an update to download, the update automatically corrected the error, but now I had to explain to the State why I had filed an erroneous return. The previous year TurboTax did not provide me with correct information on deductions of medical insurance premiums on Schedule C, as a result I lost $2500 in deductions for my small business. I decided I will never use TurboTax again, it's going to be HRBlock's TaxCut from now on, I no longer have confidence in TurboTax.
