  1. I had to return mine because it was unplayable. The game caused a complete system failure at predictable points in the game, every time. My computer is more than capable of running it based on the system reqs, and I have a top-of-the-line video card that works brilliant with every other game. With Oblivion, I spent two weeks every night talking with tech reps from the nvidia, bethesda, and HP and in the end, despite trying a slew of different approaches, they could not make this game work. Stability is a known problem with this game and some computers will just not be able to run it for whatever reason.

  2. Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition

I bought morrowind about a year ago. It’s a great game, Open-ended and great gfx. Some master trainers are not there. You can corrupt quests. I did. When I called tech support, the main line didn’t work, and I had to relay a few times to get through. I asked them to fix the quests. This is a very simple matter for someone who knows what their doing(fixing vars, etc). They said no they won’t. What, this is tech support?? I’v used tech support that did far more then just this request. I’d be on for 1-2 hrs(or more) on the phone and/or email me with helpful info. Now, I’m stuck with a number of quests that can’t be finished. ARG!!

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition

So far oblivion has been great, same open-ended format, great graphics/art. Just before I bought it, I called tech support/customer support. I couldn’t get through again! Pressed 1 for oblivion, nothing happened. I did this 5 times in a row. When I called the main line, I got the worst customer service call ever. I said the tech support line wasn’t working. They said it did. I said no it didn’t, round and round. … EVER HEARD THE TERM THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT … Can you connect me to tech support? No. What?? I’d had enough and hung up.

Oblivion is amazing, worth every penny! :)

But if you want customer service or tech support, go buy another game. If think you might need either, go buy another game. Worst customer service of any game i’v brought ever.

  3. We have not actually been able to play the game. I need to upgrade my computer so that the game can run. But my son is just extremely excited to have received the game for Christmas. Thank you.

  4. I bought Oblivion GotY edition for PC in anticipation of an awesome experience. I had played a little of the beginning of it on Xbox 360, and heard from a friend or two that it was a great game.

Upon attempting to install Oblivion, I found that it did not support Vista or a 64-bit OS. No matter, I couldn’t really blame Bethesda for not liking Vista, and the fix was simple. I set the setup file to run in compatibility mode for XP, and it installed without further issue. During the installation I was quite disappointed to find it had SecuROM DRM. I would not have bought Oblivion if I had known this before hand, regardless of how great it was. Paying to have ridiculous software installed on my computer is not ideal.

I ended up being able to play the game just fine, having decided that I may as well play it now that I’ve bought it, and began to work my way through the quests. Very soon, however, it felt like the main story line was coming to a close. I figured it couldn’t possibly end so soon, that there must be a turning point coming up, and continued onward. I was wrong. The main storyline ended right there – very short, and very disappointing. I rate the “fun” at 3 stars for the very open sandbox part of the game, which is continuable after the storyline has been completed. Overall, I wish I could get my money back on this one.

  5. I bought the game as a gift. I can’t rate it as I haven’t played it. However, it was shipped in a timely and secure manner. It arrived in one piece, so I was happy.

For a 2006 game, it does run awful slow. Our advanced graphics card has trouble processing the game when there are too many objects on screen. It gets a little choppy at times.
