Installing Turbotax Home and Business 2008 – video 1 of 2. This program was downloaded off bittorrent. Saved me $75. This is on a Dell Latitude d610 – Pentium M -Dothan (latest PM design) 1.86GHZ, 2GB DDR2 533MHZ, 80GB 7k100 HD, 14.1″ screen 1400×1050 resolution. This program took a little over 400MB of space, and uses ~60MB (130MB first launch though) of RAM upon a fresh launch + the “Intuit Update Service”, which is a windows service that is launched when windows starts by default. Last year (TurboTax 2007)’s development was switched over to .net, turbotax.intuit.com immediately from the 2006 version, memory usage almost doubled (90+ vs 55MB aprox.). This year, it appears to be more efficient than the 2007 version as far as RAM usage is concerned, although HD space usage is high.
