As a new small business owner, this program had all the software and forms I needed to quickly get my business off the ground with a minimum of start-up mistakes. My business plan was solid but several issues I overlooked in my structure were covered and corrected for in the "Plan for Success" chapter. Additionally, tax issues and lease negotiation items suggested were very helpful as was the wealth of "How to ..." checklists and forms. I recommend this program to everyone prior to staring up their new (or expanding) business; the savings in unnecessary lawyer fees was substantial and had an immediate impact on our bottom line from the beginning.

I bought this product primarily to work on contracts for my employees. With the advertising around you would expect that, however contracts are limited to independent contractors only. So for my employees it is useless, it only includes amendments to their contracts. Everything I NEED is provided by a link to NOLO to buy another product. The few useful forms for a small business owner are well done, but overall needs more useful contracts and forms rather than links to spend more money. I will definitely return this.

Times have just changed. You used to call your company attorney to draft all kinds of documents. You ordered up consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, noncompete agreements, promissory notes, and contracts for services. Have your attorney create an LLC for you while you surf the Net in your cubicle.

Try that now and you're gone, downsized. Alternatively, you could use Quicken Legal Pro 2009, save on attorney fees and stay employed. Then order yourself an ergonomic office chair, because your company needs you long-term.

What does your attorney charge? Isn't it probably $275 to $500 an hour? While you're educating your attorney about your business, the meter's ticking. A couple of 8 minute phone calls and each one might get billed 30 minutes for being partial half-hours. The attorney emails the deliverable, captures blocks of time in a time & billing system, and at month's close kicks out your invoice.

That one invoice could have bought Quicken Legal Pro 2009 many times over. And that was just for one instance. However, if you must have an attorney look over a legal document, you can still save big money (and your job) if you get it all teed up as much as possible by doing it yourself, and then merely take your own deliverable and "run it by the attorney."

Additionally, Quicken Legal Pro 2009 has much, much more including but not limited to loads of checklists, all kinds of contracts and documents, and useful letter templates.

I use this product because of the obvious reason. The days when one calls an attorney over such matters, other than to check one's own deliverables, really are gone for good.
