I know I’ve waited till the last min to do my taxes but I need to just do them ASAP! Should I file for an extension and get an accountant to do it or just go with TurboTax as I have the past 3 years? Wonder if I’d miss a lot of deductions… Thanks.

i find that turbo tax is pretty good.
to be honest (and frank), many tax preparers get their customers better refunds becuase they put bogus data in the return.
Turbo tax is a decent program but it’s never a replacement for a professional. You’ll probably be able to capture most of your expenses and deductions with no problem. For a fee you can contact one of their tax preparers with questions. Your forms will be a 1040, Schedule C and Schedule SE for the self employment.
Don’t have much idea of turbotax, but try TAXSIMPLE this is good, my dad used it since last 2 years and this year also he has filed his return using TAXSIMPLE.

It could be a wash. In the years an accountant did my taxes, I still had to spend hours getting data together so he could enter it correctly. In retirement, life is simpler and I do my own entering.
Turbo tax has products for Home and Business, also one for people with rental property. But it’s a bit late to experiment this year.
One other option. Tell an accountant you want to do your own taxes, but you would like him or her to set up your books. Keeping orderly records throughout the year makes it easier at tax time.
