Having never seen Hell's Kitchen, I tried this solely because I love simulations. I like how you have to manage and balance two aspects of it, the kitchen as well as the dining area. I really like the recipes they give you at each level as well, it's a nice touch. The food preperation was a little lacking though, as another reviewer said. Rather than mix up all the right ingredients, it seemed very generic as far as combinations and you mainly chose what the recipe called for; greens, breads or chicken. (This was during the 30 min trial, not sure how much more would be available later on) However even when ordering desserts, you get the same meat/greens/bread dish. If there was a little more detail in the ingredient portion of this game it would be perfect!
Engaging. Exciting. Not a real "cooking" game.

I enjoyed this game quite a bit. It kept me engaged the entire time. If you like time management game, this one may be right for you. The challenge in this game is to serve customers quickly and time the prep work of various ingredients as well as the cooking of the food so that they are completed all at once. (Cooked food that sits for too long will lose its quality.) The downside of this game is that there really is no "cooking" involved. All you do is prep the ingredients and then throw them in pots on stovetops or in the oven so the recipes that appear at each stage is really irrelevant. Overall, it is an engaging time management game.
Not Hell's Kitchen

I read the reviews and was still hoping it would come through for me. Don't get me wrong, the game concept is a good one and very well may be a good game if it were titled anything other than "Hell's Kitchen", but I don't think that it is an embodiment of "Hell's Kitchen" at all. It's more about time management and delivery rather than actually putting together ingredients, cooking, precision, and cooking standards. Was rather disappointed.

As a fan of Hell's Kitchen, I was eager to play this game. Thankfully I didn't have to pay for it as a friend had it on her computer, but I would have wanted my money back on this had I paid for it.
Taking into consideration that I am very bad at computer/video games, this game was easy for me to play through without a problem. There are two types of games: 1 cook, serve, and wait tables and 1 challenge section where you have to cook the meals within the allotted time. The majority of the levels are like the former. When you lose a level, computer Ramsey yells, but it is definitely toned down from what is broadcast on air.
There are 32 "days"/ levels and with each rise in rank (from 1 star to 4) a new ingredient is given which really complicated things for a few minutes. Also added as your rank increases is the number of tables to be waited and the number of meals to be made at each table. After getting a number of stars, on day 32 you finally rise to the challenge of a 5 Star restaurant.
This combination game of time management and challenge was interesting, but I played through the entire game in one day. I was expecting the game to continue and get a little more varied in menu items, challenges, etc., but the game was over after level 32.
Overall, this game (though short) was engaging and had some very nice recipes that you could print out and try on your own.

Junk software buggy video locks-up

Save your money, this game is junk.
The game locks up with a video error. As it is downloaded software there are no instructions or patches available to get past the error. It should be removed from Amazon. The company that wrote this junk should be ashamed of this product... Well that is only if it weren't for idiots like me that purchase unsupported software lining their pockets with money. The Hell's Kitchen trademark takes a big hit here for allowing the name to be used on this junk.
